Performers- Today the dancers learned a dance for the opening scene that is the House Party. The Actors performed the play after going cue to cue and learned new roles for the new scenes.

Writers- Today the writers discussed the production of the final scenes and wrote out the pieces that we had improved to complete the hard copy of the script, by making corrections. We also finished the stage plots for each scene.

Production-We rehearsed all scenes with writers and actors. Tried to gather new ideas for the closing scene and also made sure everybody had their lines together and that everyone could be off book made sure all props were together for the play and that all sound cues were written out.

Almost off book!

Today was a difficult and productive day. We faced many obstacles and conflicts but made the best out of it and accomplished another succesful day. We rehearsed Scenes 1, 2, Scene 3, Scene 4, and Scene 5. We also rehearse the time capsule (poem). Personally my favorite scene was scene 2. There was a lot of intensity ad drama when "Chris" was grazed by a bullet. Each and every day we work on project at The EY Teen Spot we learn many things from a word or to a new skill. Our drama teachers as I call them are very diligent and want to see us succeed. They are some times hard on us but that's because they don't want us to fail.

TODAY PRODUCTION MADE EVERYONE'S BINDER!!! We all have our own group production binder!!! We will be off book by Wednesday!!

Production Update

Writers – Today we wrote down ideas for the next scene. We came up with a scene, including a performance about why rap and hip-hop music is not a cause to violence in our neighborhoods. We also came up with a scene about Jenny creating a blog about how she feels guilty about what happened to her boyfriend. In Addition, we began brainstorming about a scene where girls have a slumber party and talk about their problems

Production /Web
– Led a ‘Development’ Meeting with the entire cast and crew. Everyone had input on the show and video spots. We also discussed the format of the show and where the choreo poem should go. We brainstormed about commercial ideas and came uo with a bunch. People telling people about teenspot, kids outside hot with nothing to do and a “eyteen squad” picks them up and give them stuff to do. We discussed the calendar. We are still waiting on a venu we discussed music and a DJ but we don’t know if its in the budget Jessica had a good relationship with a local DJ they wanted to throw a teen party. Wrote blogs out, and took still photos and videos.

Actors/Performance team
– Every one worked together today we sis breathing and a physical warmup. We played some amazing games called Gibberish the teens really liked that one all the boys were funny! We also played a fun game called freeze scenes! We had a ball! We also did crazy 8’s as a group! We discussed how long the show should run and how much time we have to perform.

Day 3: Update from Friday's Production Meeting

Performance: Today we were talking about gang violence and how it doesn't bother anyone until it affects a family member or a close friend. But it should be a proublem because like some people said, "You never know when it will happen to you or someone that you know."

For example, some on the news was speaking about a killing that I thought could never happen to me, and the next day one of my family members was murdered.

Writing: Today we gathered ideas for Scene 2 and we rewrote scene 1. We also made changes and included new ideas. The writers went to the actors and wrote the beginning of the script after watching their improvisation.

Production: As the production crew we came up with a t-shirt design. (shout out to yotown.com!) Also, we created a production calendar to keep track of our timing and events. We started to get our props together so that everything will be set for this week's rehearsals.

*We have confirmed our first guest speaker, Ms. Leigh Davenport. She has been a story producer on many reality shows and the BET Awards too. We think she will teach us some professional tricks that will make our production look professional.

Day 2-Writing a Script

Just to keep you updated on today's Production Meeting. We completed the opening scene and began brainstorming on tee shirt design, prop lists, and ideas for the second scene of our production.
-EYTE

WRITERS:
We gathered everybody's ideas and came up with a story. We also began writing monologues to fit the story. As writers we tried to focus on the main focuses in our production which are technology, community, and performance value.

DANCERS/ ACTORS: Today the dancers practiced their scene. They also came up with an idea for the film. Practicing for taped rehearsals was important so that they can be ready to film on Friday. The actors blocked their scene without monologues and got used to the way the scene played out.

PRODUCTION: We sketched the scene for the dancers and actors to rehearse so that they have an idea of what they'll be working with. They also put their ideas together to come to a conclusion with the rest of the crew members. And at the end we as production members rehearsed with the rest.

We are the Elizabeth Youth Teen Spot

Our intention is to execute a program that not only increases our awareness of the discipline of acting, short film and stage production, but identifies the discipline associated with caring for the tools of the trade. These tools include but are not limited to the body and the camera. (even the ones on our cell phones!)

We hope to compete in a field that relies as much upon the computer screen as it does the silver screen and upon the blog as it does the stage.
